A couple of times a year the Lifeboat Station at Appledore opens its doors to visitors. Today, 1st Feb 2020, was one of those days. The two lifeboats that are housed in the boathouse were on display. The Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat (ILB) was very popular with children queuing up to have a look round, and the boarding boat, that is used to access the all-weather Tamar class all-weather lifeboat (ALB) that is moored in the estuary, was on the slipway with its towing tractor.
